Weather Is There Going To Be A Tornado
Sometimes a tornado can form and quickly dissipate in an open area, causing little or no damage to life or property.
A Tornado Outbreak Is Expected Today
Tornadoes vary in strength, size, speed, and duration, but each must be taken seriously because their paths and effects can change rapidly.
In July 2018, three significant tornadoes occurred in central Iowa, including the devastating EF-2 in Bondurant and Pella and the devastating EF-3 in Marshalltown.
On May 22, 2019, an EF-1 tornado briefly made landfall near Adarir around midnight.
Georgia Severe Weather Preparedness Week
The twister near Adair produced maximum gusts of 95 mph during the brief time on land.
Several violent EF-5 tornadoes have been reported throughout the state’s history, including the 2008 twister near Parkersburg and two twisters in Charles City and Oelwein in 1968.
Tornadoes are usually intense thunderstorms, in which warm, moist air rises in the formation of a storm, while cooler air escapes from the storm.
Florida Weather, Radar: Isolated Tornadoes Possible With Severe Storms
During a thunderstorm, these conditions can cause circulation, or circulation, of air currents in clouds, especially if the winds are strong in the upper and upper atmosphere.
This rotating “tube” of air begins with a horizontal motion, but as the air is pulled up to form a thunderstorm, it can descend, causing the entire thunderstorm to rotate.
At first, this thunderstorm cycle might produce a cloud of clouds, but as the column of air begins to move back toward Earth, a tornado may result.

There are many myths about tornadoes and their behavior, but it’s important to know that twists and turns can really affect cities and towns, even if it seems reasonable for them to stay in open areas and remote areas.
Another common misconception is that tornadoes only occur during Iowa’s seasonal weather, such as May, June, and July.

When a tornado warning is issued, or when a tornado threatens your community, it’s important to have a backup plan in place.
Finding shelter during a tornado threat means moving to lower ground in your home or building, away from windows and doors when possible.

Why Did North Texas Get So Many Tornadoes?
When a tornado warning is issued, the usual safety measure is to immediately take shelter in a safe place. However, people with limited mobility, such as the elderly or disabled, should take further action, such as when the Tornado Watch is issued.
Help them and others in your community prepare by helping them find a safe place, practice (and time) tornado drills with them, and show them how to play a tornado watch and warning.
Those with limited mobility, such as the elderly or people with disabilities, may need your help to get ready and stay safe. # Ready / safety / storm
