Jesus Christ Son Of The Living God: Understanding The Revelation That Builds The Ekklesia By Tim Kurtz
It is undeniable that Jesus walked the earth, but what really matters is who people say Jesus is. Some will simply call Jesus a good teacher. Others see him simply as a prophet. Some would even say that he was crazy. But those who believe and believe in Jesus Christ know that He is truly the Son of God. He is the Messiah, and that is why he proclaimed that He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.
Throughout his ministry, Jesus taught many things to his disciples. He financed them, because they will be the ones to continue what he started and the establishment of the church. It was the truth that Jesus is the Son of God on whom the church was founded. Jesus is the cornerstone and fulfillment of all things.
There will come a day when the Lord will return from the bride and call us home. Until that day, may we be faithful servants of the Lord and of his kingdom. He has not called us to wait, sit, twiddle our fingers, and do nothing. He calls us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness.
Examining The Title Of Jesus As The Son Of God
Every day we are surrounded by the lost and broken. Only through the power of the Holy Spirit will we witness that God has called us. It is the Holy Spirit who gives us courage and boldness. Let us focus our hearts on the truth of God’s Word and keep our eyes on Jesus. Every day we have from Him is a gift, let us use it wisely.” 13 When Jesus reached the borders of Caesarea Philippi, he said to his disciples, “Who do people say about the Son of Man? 14 They answered: Some say John the Baptist. others said Elijah; and others, either Jeremiah or the prophets. 15 “But what about you?” he asked. “Who do you think I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said: You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God. 17 Jesus answered and said, Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. 18 I tell you that you are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not prevail against it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; Whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. 20 Then he ordered his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Messiah. Matthew 16:13-20
“Open the sesame!” Ali Baba said as he entered a magical cave. And as soon as he spoke the magic words, the cave opened up to reveal the rich. The story of Ali Baba and the forty thieves comes from the 18th century French author Antoine Galland’s Arabian Nights. Galland heard the story from Hanna Diyab, originally from Syria. The origin of the story was that a poor man named Ali Baba heard a group of thieves in his forties talking about a secret cave where they hid their treasure and it was only opened with the magic words: “Open the sesame!” The popular fairy tale sparks the imagination and has had many adaptations over the years, even Disney had a version of the story. It seems exciting to discover a hidden cave full of treasures, but in reality there are no magic words that open the hidden passages to be appreciated.
In the real world, words only get a response when they sound like the real thing. A phrase like “Open sesame” doesn’t work in the real world to replace a garage door or lock. Instead, words like “I love you” have power. For example, a mother can tell her son that she loves him after being bullied at school and her son will be fine. Words have power because a mother’s true love supports the words she says to her child. In our relationships with others, our words must be backed by something real, or they will be useless. And the same is true of our relationship with God. In Romans 11, Paul wrote in praise of God: 33 “O the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! His judgments are past finding out and his ways are past finding out! 36 For all things originated from Him and passed through Him and came through Him… To Him be glory forever. Amen.” These words praise God for his greatness, but they would be useless if God were not wise and incomparable or creator of everything that exists.
Bible Verses About ‘god’
In order to praise God, you must be able to answer the question, “Why does God deserve praise?” And, one of the best ways to answer this question is to explain who Jesus is and why he came into this world. Jesus himself asked this question in our reading from Matthew 16 when he said to his disciples: 13…”Who do men say that he is the Son of man?” And, the people were not sure what to say, as the disciple’s response shows; 14…Some say John the Baptist; others said Elijah; and others, either Jeremiah or the prophets. These popular ideas of the time about who Jesus was were not true. If someone praises Jesus like John the Baptist or another of the prophets who rose from the dead, it is useless to praise him because he was not Jesus.
After hearing the disciples’ response to the first question, he specifically asked the question: 15 “But what do you say?” he asked him. “Who do you think I am?” It was important for the disciples to know Jesus, so he asked him. And, the question itself is important to be able to answer. The correct answer is not easy because you are surrounded by wrong answers. Like the disciples, you live in a world that is confused about who Jesus is and why he walked the earth. Some feel that Jesus was just a man, some feel that he was a man who became God, some feel that he is God in a man, or that God just appeared as a man, or that he is part God and part man, while others consider him fully God and fully man. Those opinions are not the same. And mistakes about who Jesus is as a being inevitably lead to mistakes about his purpose in this world. Some would say that Jesus’ mission was to show us how to live and love, others to show us how to face adversity with courage and grace, while others are something much bigger.
Misconceptions about who Jesus is leave people believing nothing. If anyone believes that Jesus was just a man, when he died on the cross, he was buried because men did not rise from the dead.
