Knopf. Juvenile Fiction, September 20, 2016

This new book was actually republished by Gallimard on June 11, 2015 in French (the original language of the publication). However, if you’re like me and your French isn’t right, then you’ll have to wait a year after the first volume’s release to see the next installment of the saga. This epic was originally written by Philip Pullman.

When we last saw Lyra, she was traveling to the North Pole with gypsies to rescue lost children who had been kidnapped by priests. In the previous volume, we met several characters, including Lord Asriel, Mrs. Coulter, a scientist at Jordan College, and Gypsy. In this volume, we finally get to meet Iorek Byrnison and the witch from Lapland.

Inkheart & The Golden Compass

The Witch Queen Serafina Pekkala, one of my favorite characters, flies around on a pine broom at noon, perfect for October and Halloween reading. Damon Kaisa, a gray whooper swan who can move miles away from the witch instead of just a few feet like normal humans, also helps Lyra in this volume.

As I said in my review of the first volume, the improvised, almost childish ink and watercolors really bring the story to life. I especially love the scenes with Lyra and Iorek Byrnison. When Lyra first encounters Iorek in the arctic port town up north, you can almost smell the alcohol, blood, and dirty bears from the way the scene is drawn and colored.

Or wojo bear – you can really get a sense of his personality from the way he draws. He has facial expressions, although I know his body language better than his face, and his personality is especially evident in the later scene where he tells Leila how

I still think the manga can be a bit confusing if you’ve never read the original. Fortunately, there is a single-page plot introduction and pictures of the main characters at the beginning of this volume. Overall, the process seems to be more intensive than the first volume. Transitions are less abrupt, and panel groups in the same scene have the same background color, which helps distinguish one scene from another.

For example, when Farder Coram tells Lyra how he met Serafina Pekkala when he was young, the background color changes from dark blue at the moment to yellow in the flashback. This transitional color scheme is of course present in the first volume, but the tighter text also helps to make the transition clearer in the second volume. Less about explaining the world and how it works, more about showing Lyra’s adventures.

The story ends about two-thirds of the way through the novel, which is not surprising considering that a third volume in English is due out next year. True, at first I thought it had an equally good ending, but a dismal US box office, 2007 adaptation of the Chris Weitz film, but then I remembered that Lyra didn’t ask Iorek to take back the throne from Iofur Raknison. However, Lyra and Roger end up flying Iorek aboard Lee Scoresby’s balloon to Svalbard to save Lord Asriel

In the end, I liked this volume more than the last one. It’s still a bit frustrating, but, I’ll have to wait another year to come to a conclusion. Also, as I said in my first review, if you’ve never read the original novel, I highly recommend it. The manga is as usual, for hardcore fans like me or people who already know the story. The books are pretty thin, and considering they sell for about $10 each, if you’re not particularly interested in Philip Pullman’s books, you might want to wait for the full releases of all three, assuming one of them ever gets released .

In December, a new children’s film called The Golden Compass will be released. It was written by Philip Pullman, a proud atheist who belonged to a secular humanitarian group. He hated the CS Lewis Chronicle about Narnia and wrote a trilogy to show the other side. This movie fools kids and parents into thinking they’re going to buy the trilogy at the end where kids kill God and everyone can do whatever they want. Nicole Kidman stars in the film, so it will be heavily promoted. It’s just a friendly warning you definitely don’t hear on regular TV. I wouldn’t turn down a movie or book just because someone “said” they meant something else…but if you plan to watch them (or plan to take your kids along), it’s worth knowing. “Hi! I just wanted to tell you about a movie I just found out that will be out over Christmas on December 7th called The Golden Compass. It stars Nicole Kidman and it’s made for kids .Adapted from HIS DARK MATERIALS, the first trilogy of children’s books by Philip Pullman in the UK. He is an atheist who aims to attack Christianity and promote atheism. I heard him say that he wanted to kill Dead God, boys. It’s all about his books. He despises C.S. Lewis and Narnia etc. About his article saying “This is the most dangerous writer in Britain” and Pullman will be “If an atheist prays, an atheist will Will Pray” author. Pullman says he doesn’t think God exists, and he has trouble understanding the words “spirituality” and “spirituality.” Communication was not part of the agenda for creating this picture. The film is a tribute to the first book The abridged version, is the least offensive of the three books. The second book in the trilogy is The Thin Knife and the third book is the Amber Spyglass. Pullman’s hatred of God gets worse with each book read .In the trilogy, a young girl finds herself embroiled in an epic battle against an evil church known as the Magisters. Another character, a former nun, describes Christianity as “a very strong and convincing delusion”. From what I understand, the last book shows a boy and a girl representing Adam and Eve and killing God who is sometimes called YHWH (definitely not God). Because when you watch the movie, It looks light so that’s on purpose. They want unsuspecting parents to take their kids to the movies, they’ll love the movie, and then the kids will want a book for Christmas. That’s a hook. Poole Mann says he wants kids to read this book and decide to fight God and Heaven. If you decide you don’t want to support this kind of thing, I suggest you boycott the movie and the book. I googled the synopsis for The Golden Compass. I see When I was young, I couldn’t believe that there were stories about female circumcision in children’s books.

The film is based on Northern Lights (released in the US as The Golden Compass), the first sentence in a trilogy of children’s books by Philip Pullman, whose “Dark Matter” series follows a street girl who travels through the The adventures of several worlds inhabited by the Northern Lights witch. . , armored bears, and sinister church assassins to defeat the oppressive forces of an aging god.
