Fabio Quartararo really regrets having made Aleix Espargaro crash. Moreover, Espargaro is said to have a great chance of winning at Assen.

Quartararo twice fell from his motorbike at the 2022 Dutch MotoGP, Sunday (26/6). The race also had to end in DNF status after the second crash at the Assen circuit.

Prior to that, the reigning MotoGP champion had another incident. He hit lowside and hit Aleix Espargaro as he slid off the track.

Aleix Espargaro didn’t fall off the bike as did Quartararo in the incident. But he certainly lost precious time.

Impressively, Aleix Espargaro was still able to finish the 2022 Dutch MotoGP race by occupying fourth position. Even though he was thrown into the 15th position after being hit by Quartararo.

After the race, Fabio Quartararo apparently immediately went to Aleix Espargaro’s garage to apologize. Quartararo knew that Espargaro had a chance to win in the series if it weren’t for being hit by him.

“To apologize, because today’s winner was him, thanks to the speed he showed,” Quartararo told Canal+, when asked why he came to Aleix Espargaro’s garage.

“I just want to apologize for my mistake. He has shown a very good race.”

Due to this incident, MotoGP stewards also consider Fabio Quartararo to have made a mistake which resulted in Aleix Espargaro losing valuable time. Quartararo received a long lap penalty in the next race in England.
