Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?’: How To Watch The New Agatha Christie Series

The title of this murder mystery is the last words spoken by the victim. The plot is only shown until the very end, where it is over-the-top and stupid. Other than that, this Christie mystery is fun, with two friends doing their own personal investigation into the murder of a stranger. One eyewitness is Bobbie and the other is her close friend Lady Frances.

While playing a round of golf with the doctor, Bobbie hears a screeching noise and wonders if the ball will hit the course. When they looked around, they saw a man on the cliff who was seriously injured. What was initially thought to be an ‘accident’ looks suspicious after Bobbie escapes days after her beer is laced with opioids. He teams up with his wealthy friend Frankie (Lady Frances) and they slowly find themselves in a story that moves at a breakneck pace at first.

I think I liked this one more than Poirot because the investigators are familiar and there are lots of interesting activities along the way. Frankie is a heavyweight protagonist with no clichés about him. Many of the events that help them solve the case are different combinations and luck, but it’s fun. There are typical Christie tricks, where the reader is always thrown off the scent of the main villain. Though this one has more plot than any other Poirot story I’ve read.
