The phenomenon that is the PQ

There are many things that make me want to pull my hair out in this great big world of ours. None more than why on earth would the PQ want Pierre Karl Peladeau as their leader. There is no day of the week that exists where this would be a good idea.

Let me break it down for you. April 7th, 2014, the PQ who were the overwhelming favourites to win the Provincial elections by a landslide were instead humiliated by winning only 30 seats and a pathetic 26% of the popular vote. Many political pundits and everyday observers attributed this defeat to the now famous fist pump. This of course compliments of Pauline’s star candidate, the aforementioned PKP.

You see what the PQ likes to do is preach that their sole purpose of existence is sovereignty. However, they don’t like to talk about it or campaign on it. The simple reason that it’s never been nor will it ever be a viable option. The collective PQ brain trust know this but i guess PKP didn’t get the memo. He must have been off somewhere not “controlling” Quebecor.

Fast forward almost a year later and Mr. PKP has all but been chosen as the next party leader. Let me wrap my head around this. The person who was single handily responsible for their monumental defeat is now entrusted as the party leader ???

It’s only a matter of time before PKP goes off on his “Je veux un pays pour mes enfants” rant that will no doubt extinguish any hope for the sovereignty movement. To that, I say thank you PQ and PKP 🙂
